I bought this coffeemaker because my drip coffee maker stopped working. Tired of buying a $100 drip coffee maker each year (seems that's how long they last) I purchased this perculator. The Faberware coffeemakers last for years. I own a 2-4 cup (from my Mother) and a 4-8 cup by Faberware. The 8 cup was not large enough so I bought this 12-cup maker and love it. However, recently I found a 12-cup Faberware in a storage closet from my Aunt's Estate. Now I have 4 coffeemakers! You can order the Melitta wrap-around coffee filters from the Melitta website. Also the disc filters. I use both when I make coffee in the electric perculators.
